So Settlement grew near the river valleys as the water was available and the land was fertile. And With the development of trade, commerce and manufacturing. Settlement is more stable.

Settlement-Two types Temporary or permanent.

The people living in deep forests, hot and cold desserts, mountains often dwell in such temporary settlement. People lived a place for a very short time called temporary settlement. In these people live for a special purpose. People lived in a fixed place called permanent settlement.
